Our journey towards Swasthii began long before the brand itself. For years, Shivohaam and Vrindda have been working towards holistic well-being, guided by a fundamental belief: balance within and without is the first step towards wellness.
They believe that we, like everything around us, are made up of the five elements - Panchmahabhuta. Earth. Water. Fire. Air. Ether.
In Indian philosophy, the five elements represent the fundamental forces of nature and existence. These find expression in our symbol: the hand and the star.
True well-being comes from bringing these elements into balance through nutrition, movement and lifestyle, while also nurturing balance in our thoughts and emotions. The body and mind are not separate; they are interconnected parts of one energy system. This philosophy is at the heart of the online wellness courses they teach.
Therefore, Swasthii serves as an extension of the founders themselves.
Their own shift towards natural fabrics began with a simple realization:
If something is against your skin all day, shouldn't it work with and for your body - not against it?
As they became more conscious of how our surroundings, including our clothing, influence our well-being, they began choosing natural fabrics because they simply felt better. They believe clothing should feel comfortable against the skin, allowing the body to breathe and move freely.
Around the same time, they read an article about the potential harm of polyester to the human system, particularly in the context of gym wear. This prompted Shivohaam to make a change: he began working out in dhotis paired with cotton T-shirts.
People soon started noticing his look, complimenting how cool it was and asking where he had found the clothes. When Shivohaam shared this with Vrindda, her response was immediate: “WE ARE DOING THIS!” She told him that the next time someone asked, he should tell them we would be launching our own collection soon! And there you have it!
